Hiring Process
We recognize the criticality
of selecting reliable workers and that is why we have developed a comprehensive 5-step hiring program.
All new applicants are Prescreened, Interviewed, provided an orientation designed to help them understand what you need, (OS1)® training both in our training center, before site assignment, and then on-site training once assigned.

Training
GMI's Managers and Cleaning Specialists are the best trained
in Southern California. Our Operations Management team goes through a comprehensive course of training at Janitor University™ which covers everything from customer relations and "Beyond Compliance" to OSHA and MSDS regulations to janitorial practices and team cleaning. Cleaning Specialists are hired to task and trained in a state of the art program prior to and during the hiring process. A significant amount of the training is site-specific and will be customized for your facility.

Advanced Training
GMI offers monthly advanced training classes designed for building leads and project supervisors. Employees who attend the class and successfully pass the certification test are rewarded with a bonus. Subjects include advanced training on safety, MSDS, Blood Bourne Pathogens, Team Cleaning, Report Writing and emergency response and many other topics.

We always look internally for candidates for these positions before going outside of the company. Eligible after 6 months of employment
GMI pays $127.58 of employee's total premium if they sign up for our plan
Spousal or family coverage is paid 100% by employee
401k Retirement Plan
Eligible after 1 year of employment

Matching contributions

GMI will match 100% for every pre-tax $1.00 an employee saves in the Plan up to the first 3% of their eligible pay and 50% for every pre-tax $1.00 contributed of the next 2% of their eligible pay.

Holidays:

6 holidays per year
No payout (New Year's, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas)

Only those non-exempt employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement and/or contract are eligible for paid vacation, sick time & personal days according to the agreement or contract.
