GMI Security Operations Welcomes New Member of the Team

Guard Management, Inc. introduces the latest addition to the family, our new Director of Security, Jeff Dean.  Jeff will be in charge of the security operation reporting to COO Ben Cordova. Welcome Jeff!  Jeff recently completed a very successful 30 year career as a San Diego Police Officer, ending as the top man in the Criminal Intelligence Unit for the SDPD.

A native San Diegan, Jeff joined SDPD in 1978 and worked a variety of patrol assignments throughout the city. After becoming a training officer and tactical squad officer, he was promoted to detective and spent the following 2 years in the Vice Squad and 4 years as a Homicide Investigator. Jeff was then promoted to Patrol Sergeant, then Detective Sergeant and later, to Lieutenant / Watch Commander. As a Watch Commander, he managed all manner of emergency situations, critical incidents and investigations. He supervised patrol officers throughout the city, and detectives in the Narcotics and Financial Crimes units.

Jeff completed his police career as the Commanding Officer of the Criminal Intelligence Unit where he supervised hundreds of cases involving threat assessments, threats to public officials, organized crime groups and prison gangs. He managed cases and detectives assigned to the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force. He worked jointly with all local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and developed an extensive expertise in Counter-Terrorism issues, investigations, patrol, surveillance, infrastructure security, site surveys and dignitary protection.
